Welcome toThe Federation of Heathfields Infant and Wilnecote Junior SchoolsACHIEVING AND GROWING TOGETHER WITH PRIDE

Autumn 1

We have had a fabulous start to year 1 and have enjoyed launching ourselves into our first topic 'Memory Box'. The children will be learning all about the ways we develop through life from infancy to old age.

Did you know?

Babies first start to smile at their parents when they are about two months old.

By the time they are two years old, most toddlers can speak at least fifty words.

The name children call their mum is similar across many languages for example, ‘mamá’ in Spanish, ‘mai’ in Punjabi and ‘me’ in Vietnamese.

Babies love to look at contrasting patterns: simple black and white patterns in baby books or on mobiles powerfully grab and hold their attention.
