In reception the Autumn term helps support your children in coming into school and settling into school life, we have an open door policy so it is important that you come and talk to us if you or your child are feeling anxious about school in any way.
We start phonics, teaching this every day ensuring your children understand their letters and how to write and read. We also look at numbers and using numicon addition and subtraction of numbers to 10 and 20.
We make sure that we welcome parents into the school, during this term you are invited to afternoon sessions to understand how we teach your children. Further to this we also run evening courses where we show how we teach phonics, reading, writing and maths in the curriculum.
The nativity ensures the children are singing as a group and are all invited to participate in 'the special star'. Social development is key this term as it means are showing our children how to look after themselves and others.
