Welcome toThe Federation of Heathfields Infant and Wilnecote Junior SchoolsACHIEVING AND GROWING TOGETHER WITH PRIDE

School Dinners

Both Wilnecote Junior and Heathfields Infant have kitchens on site that provide hot meals, salads and sandwiches to our pupils.  Chartwells catering services are our provider and we work very closely with them to ensure that the meals they serve are balanced, tasty and nutritious. If you wish your child can bring in a Healthy Lunchbox prepared at home if they don't want a school dinner.

We actively encourage children to consider their lifestyle and make healthy life choices. Our kitchen staff support us in this respect by providing a range of healthy snacks for children to purchase at morning break and by encouraging a balanced choice of food at lunchtime. We encourage children to bring healthy snack each day such as fruit (no crisps). Sweets, fizzy drinks and chocolate are not permitted in school for break time. Meals at Wilnecote Juniors are charged at the standard county rate (£2.15), while all children at Heathfields Infant are entitled to a Universal Free School meal. Payments can be made via cheques payable to Staffordshire County Council, cash in school office (in sealed envelope, clearly marked with the amount, name and class), however the preferred way of any payments for children at our Junior site, is our new online secure service called ParentPay (further information in the section “Payments”). Provision is made for children who forget their lunchbox. In this case, a meal is provided and a text message is sent to parent/carers.

Heathfields Infant children have milk provided until the month before their 5th birthday. After this, parents are asked to pay 20p a day for their child to be able to get a milk. At Heathfields Infant, children are also provided with a free piece of fruit at break times. Wilnecote Junior children have the opportunity to purchase snack from the kitchen staff during the break time. The full price list is available on the school website.

The Junior Site is using ParentPay, online secure system. ParentPay offers the freedom to make payments whenever and wherever you like, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - safe in the knowledge that the technology used is of the highest internet security available. Every pupil has a secure online account, activated using a unique username and password; parents will be prompted to change these, and to keep them safe and secure. If you have more than one child at our school or children at other ParentPay schools, you can create a single account login for all your children. Making a payment is straight forward and ParentPay holds a payment history for to be viewed at a later date. Parents can use PayPoint or credit / debit card for payments; no card details are stored in any part of the system. PayPoint payments are recorded by ParentPay and can be seen by logging into ParentPay account. The nearest PayPoint stores to school are A5 Stores at Watling Street and Co-Operative store at Brent Wilnecote. School Office is able to provide parent with PayPoint card if parents / carers wish to use the PayPoint facility. A plastic card will be issued to make cash payments for school meals, breakfast club or trips at local PayPoint stores. The first card is free of charge however, any lost or damaged cards will be charged at £2.00 each. Payment cards take about two weeks to arrive but we can issue a barcode letter as an interim measure. Trip and activity information letters carry a unique barcode which will allow making cash payments at local PayPoint store.
