In science this term one of the things we were going to investigate was forces. So to keep with the theme of Normans I have given you some instructions to make a catapult. The first one is a simple construction which you can follow if you go to this site:
The 2nd is a set of instructions which is a more complexed one but using similar materials. Once you have completed it you can then test it and use it to help you answer the questions on the sheet below. You don't have to print this out, just write down these sentences onto your own piece of paper with a labelled diagram of your own catapult. Also I would like you measure the distance that your catapult can fire a screwed up piece of paper. Please make sure that ask permission of the adults in your house before trying any of this. If you don't have the materials in your house to build the catapult, you can find many examples of them on you tube, where they show you how it works and which forces are involved. Good luck and enjoy!
