Our Topic is "wriggle and crawl". We are looking at minibeasts.

Minibeasts are ‘small creatures’, like worms, snails, insects and spiders. The scientific term for them is ‘invertebrates’ – a creature without a backbone.

Because they don’t have a backbone, minibeasts tend to have other structures which support and protect them. Snails have shells, while many insects and spiders have an ‘exoskeleton’, which is a hard casing on their outside.

There are over 25,000 minibeast species in Britain.

Joke of the day

Today you could;

Research!

Lat week you reasearched five minibeasts. This week you will be writing one paragraph a day to make a non-chronological report.  Use the Heading Minibeasts or think of your own.  Each day you need a new subheading, maybe the name of your minibeast and then a new paragraph. Here are some things you researched last week for you to include in todays paragraph.

Where they live.

What they look like.

What they eat.

How they protect themselves.

What is their life cycle.

Are they eaten anywhere in the world.

Remember to write in full sentenes not just copy your notes.
