Welcome toThe Federation of Heathfields Infant and Wilnecote Junior SchoolsACHIEVING AND GROWING TOGETHER WITH PRIDE

Friday

This week you have been looking at persuasive letters in English and looking into our new Topic playlist for your Topic learning.

Today you are going to have a go at planning and writing your very own persuasive letter to your favourite artist as to why they SHOULD buy your CD and no one else's.

What makes your CD different from the rest?

Yesterday you may have written down some ideas on why they should buy your CD (it was the start of your plan).

We have written lots of letters in school, so you are all familiar with the layout. If you can't remember (and that is okay) look back at the letter you was reading on Monday. I have also attached a picture of how you could set your own letter out too.

Below is a picture of what you could include in your letter and I have given you some examples of those features to give you a head start. REMEMBER you can magpie my ideas too.

The 'T' on AFOREST stands for 'Triple, three of'. This means you need to pick a phrase and repeat it in your letter three times. It needs to be catchy and something your reader isn't going to forget!

Below is an example of my 'plan' and my 'AFOREST' notes.

Have a go at planning and writing your letter. Don't worry if you only get your plan done today, you can write it up on Monday!

If you are finding writing a letter to an artist is tricky, why not have a go at writing a letter to persuade parents to buy you a new toy, a new dog or something that you want. Think about the vocabulary you are going to use to persuade them to buy it for you. Think of your reasons WHY?
