This week we would have been exploring money in our Maths lessons.
In Year 2 we learn to:
Today can you explore giving change?
What coins do you know? What notes do you know? Can you order them from least to greatest amount?
We have had a look at adding amounts of money, now let’s have a go at giving/finding change. When you go to the shop and buy something, you might receive change. To explore change we need to use our subtraction skills. Remember to draw your tens and ones or use the column method.
E.g. If I buy a chocolate bar for 25p and pay with 50p, how much change would I get?

Can you find any loose change around your house? That could be your spending money. Put some prices on your toys and go shopping! How much change would you receive? Have you got enough change? How much more do you need if you haven't got enough?
Challenge: Can you explore change over £1?
