This week we would have been exploring time in our Maths lessons.
In Year 2 we learn to:
- compare and sequence intervals of time
- tell and write the time to five minutes, including quarter past/to the hour and draw the hands on a clock face to show these times
- know the number of minutes in an hour and the number of hours in a day
Today can you explore time to 15 minute intervals?
Which hand is the minute hand? Which hand is the hour hand?
How many seconds are in one minute?
How many minutes are in one hour?
How many hours are in one day?
Let’s explore telling the time to 15 minute intervals focusing on quarter past and quarter to. Explore the 15 minute interval powerpoint. Can your grown ups test you by asking you the time when it is o'clock, quarter past and quarter to?
Challenge: Can you use your iPad/tablet to take a photo every time you notice the clock showing o’clock, quarter past, half past and quarter to?
