Today can you explore temperature?

Temperature is measured using a device called a thermometer and is usually measured in degrees Celsius. A thermometer is filled with liquid called mercury. The mercury will rise when the temperature is hot, and fall when the temperature is cold.

Today’s task:

  • What words can you think of linked to temperature?
  • Write a list of items that would have a high temperature and a list of items that would have a low temperature. These can be items from around your home!
  • Can you pick some and put them in order of coldest to hottest?

Challenge: Can you do some research? Explore the weather today in different countries! Can you put the countries in order from coldest to hottest? Will this order be the same tomorrow?
