Maths

This week we would have been exploring time in our Maths lessons.

In Year 2 we learn to:

  • compare and sequence intervals of time
  • tell and write the time to five minutes, including quarter past/to the hour and draw the hands on a clock face to show these times
  • know the number of minutes in an hour and the number of hours in a day

Today can you explore time to 5 minute intervals?
Which hand is the minute hand? Which hand is the hour hand?
How many seconds are in one minute?
How many minutes are in one hour?
How many hours are in one day?
Let’s explore telling the time to 5 minute intervals. Explore the 5 minute interval powerpoint. Can your grown-ups test you by asking you the time throughout the day?

Challenge: Have you got a watch? Can you tell your grown-ups the time throughout the day?
