What is the difference between 2D and 3D shapes? 2D shapes are flat. 3D shapes can be held.

Have a go at finding some 3D shapes around the house. Discuss the properties- faces, edges, and vertices. Have a look at 3D shape everyday objects powerpoint.

 

Activity: Can you explore the properties of the shape? How many faces does the shape have? How many vertices does the shape have? How many edges does the shape have? Are the edges curved or straight? Go through 3D shape properties powerpoint.

 

Challenge: Do any of the shapes have the same properties but look different?
