This week for our Maths learning we will be focusing on perimeter. As with the English learning, we will be using the Oaks Academy videos.
For the lessons this week you will need paper, a pencil and a ruler. For some lessons it asks you to use dotted or squared paper and worksheets. These are all accessible through the website but are not essential if you do not have provision to print at home.
Children can draw their own tables, making jottings of calculations and draw their shapes where necessary.
Each lesson will start with an introductory quiz which helps children to recall previous learning.
In this lesson, you will learn what perimeter means and how to work out the perimeter of a square or oblong. You will need a sharp pencil and a ruler to help. We will then move on to learn how the properties of a rectangle can help us use efficient methods to calculate perimeter.
