Heathfields Infant & Wilnecote Junior

Uniform and Appearance

School Uniform

We believe that children develop the habit of dressing suitably for all occasions. We want our children to take a pride in their appearance and the school they belong to. Therefore we expect a child’s appearance and hairstyle to be smart and appropriate for school. The following items of clothing constitute our expectations of appropriate dress:

  • Blue sweatshirt or cardigan
  • White shirt or blouse
  • Black or grey trousers or skirt
  • Sensible black shoes (no trainers)

Sweatshirts, polo shirts and cardigans embroidered with the school badge are available from Clothing4Schools. For more details, see Clothing4 website. Unfortunately, neither school office store uniforms.

Each pupil needs a set of clothing to change into for games and P.E. Cloakrooms space in school is very limited and storage of large bags can be a problem. Parents/carers are asked to provide a suitably sized bag for Games /PE kit. PE kits should be brought into school on a Monday and be taken home on a Friday for washing.

PE KIT

  • A pair of royal blue or black shorts
  • A T-shirt in house colour
  • Black pumps

GAMES KIT

  • A pair of royal blue or black shorts
  • A T-shirt in house colour
  • Jogging bottoms and a jumper should be worn for winter outdoor activities
  • Trainers

SWIMMING

  • A plain one-piece swimming costume or dark swimming trunks/shorts (above knee length)
  • County Council regulations require every child to wear a swimming cap – these can be purchased from school office (£1 each)

Please ensure that all items of clothing and personal property are clearly named!

Jewellery

To ensure the safety of all children, the only jewellery that may be worn at school are plain watches and stud earrings.

Pierced Ears

Earrings MUST be removed for all physical activities. If your child’s ears have been pierced recently, a disclaimer must be completed (available from the office) to allow him / her to take part in PE and games lessons.
