Wilnecote Weekly Update - 13th February 2026

{item_alt_tag}

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you so much to everyone who attended Parents’ Evening last week. It was wonderful to have the chance to talk with you and share the fantastic progress the children are making. We also really appreciated you taking the time to look through the children’s books—your engagement and interest mean a great deal to them and to us.

A huge thank you as well for your continued support with reading at home. Encouraging your child to read at least four times a week is making a noticeable difference, and we are grateful for the partnership we have with you in helping every child grow in confidence and enjoyment as a reader.

Staffing Updates

We are delighted to announce the appointment of our new Head of School. Mrs Harridence will be joining the Wilnecote team on the 13th April. She is currently an Associate Headteacher and brings with her a wealth of experience, strong leadership skills, and a proven commitment to raising standards.

We look forward to welcoming her into our community and introducing her to pupils, parents, and staff during the Summer Term.

Parent Support

As part of our Religious Education curriculum, we would like all children in school to be exposed to a range of different religions and beliefs which we are learning about during our lessons.

It would benefit the children greatly to hear firsthand about religions within our community, so we would love to invite you in to share your experiences and knowledge of your religion. If you, or someone you know, would like to come into school and share your knowledge with the children, we would be greatly appreciative.

Please contact the school office if you are interested in supporting us, in any capacity.

The PTFA are asking for donations to be handed in to the office from Monday 9th February until Tuesday 24th February. The PTFA will then hold the annual costume swap on Friday 27th February 2026 on Heathfields playground at the end of the school day.
