Dear Parents and Carers
Welcome Back to School!
A very warm welcome back to all our children, families and staff as we begin another exciting school year at Heathfields Infant Academy.
We hope you have enjoyed a happy, restful summer break and have had the opportunity to spend quality time together. It has been wonderful to welcome our children back into school and see their smiling faces, enthusiasm and eagerness to learn.
The start of a new academic year brings many opportunities for learning, growth and achievement. Our staff team has been busy preparing classrooms, planning engaging learning experiences and ensuring that everything is ready for a successful year ahead. We are looking forward to working closely with you to support every child in reaching their full potential.
We would like to extend a special welcome to the families who are joining our school community for the first time. We hope you quickly feel at home and become part of the strong partnerships that make Heathfields such a special place to learn and grow.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Together, we can ensure that every child enjoys a positive, safe and successful year filled with learning, friendship and memorable experiences.

P.E. lessons
Year 1 will have P.E every Monday and Wednesday.
Year 2 will have P.E every Tuesday and Thursday.
Around half tern Reception will start to introduce a weekly PE lesson on Fridays.
We will be asking for children to come to school in their normal school uniform and change into their P.E. kits. P.E. kits can remain in lockers for the half-term.
Reading at home
Did your child complete the summer reading challenge? We are asking for the children to share their certificates, and we will copy and display these in the library as we are proud of the achievements.
Next week, all children in Years 1 and 2 will come home with two books, one book that has been read in school by a adult, and they should read this several times to an adult to build up their fluency, and one book that they are chosen for pleasure from the library or class libraries. This book will be harder and may need to be read fully by an adult)
Throughout the week, staff will check the reading diaries and move the children up a classroom display every time they read at home. If your child reads 4 or more times at home, they will be rewarded with a raffle ticket. If this is continued throughout the term, the children will have extra playtime!

Thank you to the Reception parents for adding all the personal data on their child's records. Please remember that all parents need to keep these records up to date with any relevant changes.

Have you accessed Tapestry? As the teachers will start using this piece of software. If you have not accessed this please look for the email that has been sent with the user agreement form.

Now is a great time to think about your child's journey to and from school and ensure it is as safe as possible.
