Dear Parents and Carers
As we come to the end of the first half term, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our parents and carers for the support you continue to give your children and the school. Your encouragement at home plays a vital role in helping children develop confidence, resilience and a love of learning.
We hope you enjoyed spending time looking through your child's books last weekend. It was wonderful to see so many families engaging with and celebrating the children's achievements. We were delighted that over 70% of children completed a proud statement about their learning. These have been shared in class and read by both teachers and the leadership team, and it has been a pleasure to hear the children reflecting so positively on their success.
We are equally proud of the excellent progress the children have made this half term. Their growing confidence, imagination and creativity are particularly evident in their story writing, where they continue to impress us with their ideas and enthusiasm.
Behind the scenes, our staff team remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of care and education. All staff have recently completed their annual Health and Safety and Safeguarding training to ensure that our school remains a safe and supportive environment for every child. In addition, our Year 1 and Year 2 teachers have been developing exciting new writing lessons using the Literacy Counts resources. They are eager to introduce these lessons after half term and look forward to inspiring the children with new opportunities to develop their writing skills.
Reception updates
McKee Class will be doing their Autumn walk on Friday 6th November after the gold ribbon assembly.
Gold ribbon assembly – Reception children have been in and observed two gold ribbon assemblies. After half term, two children from each class will receive a gold ribbon. The lucky children's parents will be invited to the assembly via the Arbour App.
Fidget Toys
As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe school environment, we would like to remind parents and carers that children are not to bring their own fidget toys into school.
We have recently received a further safety alert from the Local Authority regarding fidget toys that have been found to contain harmful substances, including asbestos. To ensure the safety and wellbeing of all pupils, any child who requires a fidget toy to support their learning will be provided with one by the school.
We would be grateful for your support in ensuring that personal fidget toys are left at home. Please note that any fidget toys brought into school will be kept by the class teacher and returned directly to parents or carers at the end of the school day.
If you have any questions or concerns, please speak to your child's class teacher.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain a safe
