TT Rockstars
Learning times tables is a vital part of your child’s mathematical journey. Strong multiplication skills unlock success in problem-solving, fractions, division, and so much more.
To support this, we set 15 minutes of Times Tables Rock Stars (TTRS) homework each week. TTRS makes practice fun and competitive, and just a few minutes a day can make an enormous difference!
Currently, engagement levels show that some pupils are not practising enough to reach the expected standard for their year group. Fluency in times tables is as essential in maths as reading is in English—it is the foundation for confidence and progress.
Here’s how classes performed last week:
• Hughes – 48%
• Lewis – 52%
• Browne – 40%
• Morpurgo – 34%
• White – 31%
• Fine – 34%
• Almond – 27%
• Pearce – 42%
• Pullman – 43%
• Sachar – 23%
• Shakespeare – 66%
Let us aim higher together! Encourage your child to complete their homework each week—either in one 15-minute block or spread out over the week with a few minutes each day. Homework runs from Monday morning to Sunday at 3pm.
If you need a paper version of the homework, please speak to your child’s teacher—we are happy to help.
Thank you for supporting your child to become a true Times Tables Rock Star! Every minute counts toward building strong foundations in maths.
Y6 Design and Technology
As part of our Year 6 Design and Technology project, the children have created some fantastic waistcoat designs—each one tailored to fit a teddy bear! They are excited to bring their ideas to life.
To help us complete this activity, we kindly ask for your support in providing the following materials (please note that all children will receive plain linen as a base for their design):
• Fabric (any suitable material for waistcoats)
• Buttons or fasteners
We do have some buttons and fasteners available in school, but several children have planned very extravagant designs and may wish to add extra details that we cannot provide. If you have any spare items at home that could help, bring their creative ideas to life, we would appreciate them!
We will begin sewing next week:
• Sachar Class: Wednesday, 26th November
• Shakespeare Class: Thursday, 27th November
Thank you so much for your support in making this creative project a success—we cannot wait to see the children’s amazing designs come to life!
Thank you to everyone who attended the parent/carer workshop last week!
It was wonderful to see you all there and sharing ideas together.
Our next parent/carer workshop will be on Tuesday, January 7th.
We’ll be exploring Emotion Coaching—a practical approach to help children understand and manage their feelings.
We hope you can join us!

PTFA events
All children have designed a piece of Christmas artwork. These have been sent off to the company and shortly you will be sent further instructions and links should you wish for this piece of work to be produced on items such as Christmas cards, mugs and a variety of other products. For every product purchased, the PTFA will get a small donation.
The family bingo session will be held on Friday 11th December. The PTFA are asking for donations that can be turned into coloured-themed hampers.
We would like donations of the following colours on Friday 28th November:
Year 3 – Silver/White coloured items for the silver/white hamper
Year 4 - Purple coloured items for the purple hamper
Year 5 - Green coloured items for the green hamper
Year 6 – Any coloured item for the multi-coloured hamper
Do not worry if you bring in a different colour as this can be used in the multi-coloured hamper.
If your child brings in a donation, they can come to school in non-school uniform on that day (children do not have to wear these colours).
