Today we will be doing 'Reader as a reader'. This is where I usually give you a set of questions around our Reading Vipers and you answer them using the text.
As you have all picked different texts, we are going to do it a little different. Blow are a list of our Reading Vipers to remind you of them all.
Vocabulary - Eplain the meaning of words in context.
Inference - Make inference from the text/ explain and justify using evidence from the text.
Prediction - Predict what might happen from the details stated and implied.
Explain - Identify/explain how information/narrative content is related and contributes to the meaning as a whole.
Retrieve - Retrieve and record key information/key details from fiction and non-fiction.
Summarise - Summarise main ideas from more than one paragraph.
Using each VIPER come up with your own questions about the text that you have read.
We have looked at our Reading Vipers loads in English so be brave and challenge yourself.
Mild - Write a question for each VIPER.
Hot - Write two questions for each VIPER.
Flaming Hot - Same as Hot, then have a go at answering your own questions. REMEMBER to answer using the information from the question.
Once you have completed todays learning don't forget to either email your learning to your teacher or take a photo and send it to our twitter or Instagram account, email address is firstname.lastname@example.org.
